↔️ Collateral Mobility Continues with Euroclear and Canton Network

One of the biggest themes we’ve been seeing is that of collateral mobility and the utility it gives to tokenized assets. Euroclear and Canton Network announced just yesterday that they’ll be working the first phase of their exploration in this space for the Canton Global Collateral Network (GCN).

Who’s Euroclear?
Great question, that’ll help better understand this. Euroclear is one of the largest financial market infrastructure companies helping clear and settle trades on European exchanges, helping with post-trade services and collateral management. So it’s safe to say they know a thing or two on the matter!

Posting margin has been one of the prime examples of tokenized collateral being put to the test, with the goal being not to have to liquidate out of a position, post cash margin, then invest back into say a money market fund. Tokenization allows people to bypass and just offer the tokenized asset as the collateral because of its speed and efficiency compared to trying to do this off-chain.

Given that Hashnote just got acquired by Circle, their USYC is already on Canton Network, and Circle shared they’ll be natively issuing USDC on Canton, I say its not far fetched to expect one or both of these assets’ involvement - most likely USYC.

🎶 Music Protocol and Plume Network Partner on Royalties

The tokenization of intellectual property (IP) has also been explored in the space like movies through the Pressman Films offering on Republic and music through multiple platforms.

Music Protocol (backed by Brevan Howard Digital and Haun Ventures) is purchasing IP upfront and tokenizing the future cash flows of that music, also known as royalties.

Investors get exposure to pools of streaming and licensing using the $RECORD token which looks like will now be available on the Plume Network thanks to this partnership announcement and the grant Plume gave to Music Protocol. Not only that but $RECORD can also be staked on their insurance mechanism - the Risk Sharing Pool

This is interesting for investors to get in on music but also for the artists looking for funding to create more music or early liquidity. This also means that artists can better interact with their fans if they’d like, knowing exactly who the most “invested” ones are due to participation in their respective pools being on-chain.\
